This website has been developed by the Teen Parents Support Programme (Cork). There are 11 Teen Parents Support Programmes (TPSP) throughout the country.
What is the Teen Parent Support Programme (TPSP)?
The Teen Parent Support Programme (Cork) is a service for young parents in the Cork city and county area. We are here to help, from the time you realise you are pregnant right up until your baby is at least 2 years old. There are other TPSPs around the country, have a look at the Help when you need it section for your nearest TPSP.
This is our project offices in Cork City, we would be delighted to meet you.
What does the TPSP do?
We provide a service for young mums and dads, before and after your baby is born. If you have any concerns, need some information or support, even just a chat, maybe the TPSP can help. We can provide support during pregnancy and after for you (Mum or Dad) and your baby during the early years, in our centre or at home if you want. Grandparents/guardians are very welcome too! We can also help you to find other services in your local area so that you can get the help that you need quickly and easily.
How can the TPSP help?
Being a young parent can be a challenge. It can be hard to manage everything and find out all you need to know. The TPSP can give you local information on things like
Preparing for the Birth
Caring for your baby
Pregnancy
Finding Accommodation
Going back to school or college
Meeting other young parents
Someone to talk to
Money and benefits
Childcare
Being a dad
Being a mum
Local training programmes.
You might want someone to help you talk with Social Welfare, Housing Depts. or your school. Maybe you would like to talk over your plans for the future, problems coming up in your life or just to have someone on your side. Give us a call or drop in, we can arrange to meet with you and help you work out what you need.
The Teen Parent Support Programme (Cork) is managed by St. Anne's Day Nursery and funded by the Health Service Executive.
