Your friends can be a great support to you during your pregnancy, so don’t be scared to tell them if you are feeling tired, a bit down or to talk about being pregnant. Share your excitement or your worry with them. If they are young like you, pregnancy may be very new to them. They might find it interesting, scary or even a bit yucky. Tell them about the good things and the not so good, so they can understand the changes you are going through.
It is still important to be interested in their lives, the gossip, the nights out and the everyday problems. You might think nothing is as important as your baby, to you maybe, but remember that your friends may be thinking about something else.
Going out
When you are pregnant you may not have as much energy to party with your friends as before. You might find because of that, your social life as you know it goes downhill for a time. This can be difficult for most girls as they feel they are missing out and may even lose contact with some of your friends.
If you are a guy, you might feel you should stay home with your girlfriend when she can’t go out to certain places because of being pregnant. You may find it hard to divide your time between your friends and your girlfriend. As a couple, you can still meet your friends at venues that are less hectic like the cinema or a café.
You might call to them or they might call to your house to watch the latest DVD. Alcohol is out in pregnancy but popcorn, chocolate and ice-cream (sometimes) are definitely in!!!
Note for the lads ! If the girlfriend doesn’t drink during the pregnancy maybe the guy could support her and not do it either!!....
